Direct Response Television also known as DRTV. This form of adevetising includes any TV / television advertising that requests the viewer to respond directly to the company — usually  by calling an toll free 800 number or by visiting a specific web site. This is a form of direct response marketing. When it first appeared, DRTV was used to market goods and services directly from the manufacturer or wholesaler to the consumer, bypassing retail. Over time, it has also become used as a more general advertising medium and is now used by a wide range of companies — often to support retail distribution.
