There are some Boston moving and storage companies that can provide you with the right packing tools you need to have a successful move. Here is a list of tips that can give your packing tasks the added edge:

* Collapsible bags - There are vacuum seal bags that you simply place your items in, then vacuum the air out to give you more space. They are amazing space savers and you can pack away summer or winter clothes with ease while packing for your move.

* Reinforce boxes properly - Make sure to cris-cross tape on the bottom of the boxes. This will add strength to the box so it will not open. When placing fragile items, put clothing or bedding at the bottom of the box to support the fragile items. Then make sure to cover the box properly with tape and express that the box is fragile in bold letters.

* Label and organize - Use the box as a notepad to show what the box contains as well as what room it belongs in when you arrive at the new destination.

When you begin packing for your Boston move, you must realize this is the key foundation to having a successful transition. Your property must be carefully arranged and kept neat and organized. Keeping your belongings in proper order can insure little damage and also speeds up the time it will take to unpack in your new home. Things to keep in mind for your Boston moving experience.

  • Place bulky, considerable items in smaller boxes so they are easier to manipulate the weight.
  • Place lighter articles in large boxes so that you can maneuver the items quickly in and out of the truck.
  • Secure boxes with tape. Especially consider the bottom of the box so that nothing can slip out when carrying them. The stronger the support, the better.
  • Keep the box full. If there is open space in the box, apply linens and towels to secure the items wont bounce around. This also saves box space while the lines do double duty; packing & supporting!
  • Label boxes specifically. You can also write instructions for when to open them. If there are kitchen utensils you cant live without, label the box “Cups” or “Plates” etc.
  • Label the box FRAGILE only when it truly is fragile. Keep those boxes to one area so that everyone who touches them is cautious of how to handle them.
  • When packing glass or china, wrap and place each piece individually in the boxes.
  • If you can, keep the boxes for electronics and repack them so they are secured with foam and original stuffing.
  • Use blankets and bedding for additional stuffing in boxes.
  • Larger, heavier items go towards the bottom, lighter on the top.
